Jane Goodall
You’d be hard pressed to find someone that’s led a more unusual life than Jane Goodall. As most people know she amongst the chimpanzees in Africa for many years. Jane has a new book entitled Harvest for Hope: A Guide to Mindful Eating, and its not surprising its about her love and hope for planet earth.
U and I
To travel is to live – a famous poet by the name of Hans Christian Anderson once said. And most would agree. But the real joy comes when you can share your travel experiences, at least for Taku Kuame. He’s betting other people feel the same with his new magazine made entirely with contributions from people like U and I.
Books for the Navy
The Charles Taylor Prize awards 25 thousand dollars annually for what they deem to be the best in Canadian Literary non-fiction. But what of the 90 some odd books that are read and reviewed by the judges? This year they'll all be heading off across the high seas with the Canadian Navy.

Bruce Kirkby
Most of us would probably like to trade in mundane jobs for a life of adventure, or at least a little more freedom from the office. Bruce Kirkby did exactly that. He swapped an office cubicle for desert treks, whitewater rafting, and mountain climbing. His latest book, The Dolphins Tooth, captures some of those memories.
Northern Magic
One of our favourite stories of the past couple of years concerns the Steumer Family from Ottawa. In 1997 they traded in their middle class life style to sail around the world. Shortly after we interviewed the Steumers, Diane the mother, succumbed to melanoma in March 2003. But their adventures left an amazing legacy. Here’s an encore of that fantastic story and journey of the Northern Magic.
