The book has been turned into a forth-coming movie starring Will Smith.
Running with Scissors Augusten Burroughs’ off the wall memoir Running with Scissors has been turned into an equally quirky film. Illustrating the author’s real life experience of being adopted by his mother’s unorthodox psychiatrist, the movie features some heavy hitters in Hollywood including Gwyneth Paltrow, Joseph Fiennes and Annette Bening, who stars as Augusten’s mother.
Book Expo America It’s an annual carnival of all things literary with thousands of exhibitors and guests descending on Washington DC and turning the city into a book lovers paradise. Videographer Lars-Peter Bjornson captures the sights and sounds of Book Expo America 2006, showcasing some unconventional book material including juicing manuals, the Baldwin brother’s bible and Margaret Atwood’s fantastical inventions.
The Raven - Ryan Price Trying to breathe life into the old form of poetry is a tough task. But Kids Can Press have done something amazing with the dusty form. Accomplished illustrators were commissioned to add a visual dimension to well-known poems and the result is gorgeous. The latest in the series is Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven. Ryan Price was given the job of illustration and we travel to Guelph to meet the artist.
