Deepak Chopra
Where would the metaphysical world be without the abundant and prolific words of Deepak Chopra. He is a bonafide spiritual self-help superstar with millions of followers, and yes he has written another book. This one is Chopra’s map to the afterlife in which he describes what happens to us as we pass through to the 'world beyond'.
John Wood
It's something we've all thought about or at least dreamt of: leaving the day job to pursue something more meaningful. Well, John Wood did just that. And then he wrote a book about it. Videographer Lars-Peter Bjornson caught up with John at his book launch in Toronto for the release of Leaving Microsoft to Change the World: An Entrepreneur's Odyssey to Educate the World's Children.
Bobby Orr
Stephen Brunt's new book Searching for Bobby Orr is appropriately named, being that there are few books on the very private, yet very famous hockey player. Bobby Orr redefined the position of the defenseman. His most famous goal helped the Boston Bruins win their first Stanley Cup in 29 years. And he was a key figure in the exposure of his former agent Alan Eagleson, who pleaded guilty to fraud and was sentenced to prison. Brunt takes us back to the "Glory Years" of hockey - before team expansion, back to the original six. Past the celebrity athletes of today and into an intimate portrait of one of the greatest players to ever hit the ice.
Peter Meltzer
If you are one of those people who prefer beer to wine these days, then Keys to The Cellar might be the book for you. Its author is wine expert Peter Meltzer, and K.C.C. took him to one of Toronto's favourite restaurants, Le Select Bistro, to talk about collecting and drinking the fruit of the gods.
Secretariat
ESPN listed the racehorse Secretariat 35th of the 100 greatest athletes of the 20th Century – one of only three non-humans to make the list. Videographer Lars-Peter Bjornson takes us out to the racetrack for a new book about this incredible animal.
Fly Pen
One of the hottest toys of the year is a pen. Not just any pen, but one that has a brain (a built in computer processor) and its got a voice. It even has its own language. It's called the Fly Pen and it's aimed at young people, but since KCC needed some help with his Algebra, he took it for a test drive.
