American Fascists
There are now more than 70 million evangelical Christians living in America, the majority of who focus on moral values. But, a small minority has started a radical movement that works towards an intolerant and theocratic version of America. Author and journalist Chris Hedges explores this group in his provocative book American Fascists.

Alberto Manguel
Famed writer Alberto Manguel loves libraries and he gives us his views on why a public collection of books can help us navigate through a world gone mad with digital information.

Mike Holmes
More than 1 million viewers tune in each week to Home and Garden Television to watch Canada’s most trusted contractor, Mike Holmes, rescue homeowners from home renovation disasters on his namesake show, Holmes on Homes. Mike Holmes himself has become a house hold phenomenon with his passion for helping people to “Make It Right” - which is also the title of his brand new book.  A step by step guide through home renovation so that you don’t have to have Mike come to your house to fix what should have been done right in the first place. We went to his book launch at Chapters where we caught up with Mike and a lot of his fans.

Poker
It used to be that if you were a poker player and you went into a bookstore, you would be lucky to find more than one book about gambling. Now, with the explosion of Texas Hold’em on Television, there are numerous books on improving your card skills. Two recent books are written by two of the biggest names in the game, Daniel Negreanu and Phil Gordon.

Noah Richler
It’s a sort of chicken or the egg dilemma - do stories dictate place, or does place dictate story? And when it comes to Canada is it even possible to imagine one story defining all of us. These are the sorts of the questions Noah Richler set out to answer on his recent trip across the country. His findings were turned into his first book.

Annie Leibovitz
One of the most celebrated photographers of our time, Annie Leibovitz, now brings us her latest retrospective A Photographers Life. It features a collection of her work, showcasing a more personal side to the woman best known for her memorable, if not unintentionally controversial celebrity portraits - including that famous Vanity Fair cover with a pregnant Demi Moore.
