Your Brain on Music – Half Hour Special
Elvis Costello is famously quoted as saying "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture - it's a really stupid thing to want to do."  Well this week we're going to try our own hand at the impossible as we bring you a Word This Week special on the allusive, compelling and mysterious world of music.

Our interests were peaked when we were introduced to Daniel J. Levitin’s book This Is Your Brain on Music. It’s a compelling look into the science of sound and an attempt to unearth the meanings behind musical creativity. We have interviews with David Bowie, Missy Elliott, Damhnait Doyle, a variety of song writers and music loving neurologists, all weighing in on this delightfully diverse topic.
