Calabash
Jamaica's Calabash Literary festival is held each year, in May, right beside the beach. The festival is free to the public and draws some of the most talented writers from around the world. This year's fest included award winning authors, Michael Ondaatje, DY Bechard and Lloyd Jones.

Mean City
Barcelona, Paris, New York, and Chicago - they all come to mind when we think of the world's great cities, but Toronto, while still an underdog, has already carved out an impressive number of architectural delights. In his book, Mean City, John Martins-Manteiga surveys the fast changing city from the 50's to the 70's, revealing the often under appreciated sense of possibility found in Toronto.
