Thompson's work is also the subject of a new documentary directed by Academy Award Winner, Alex Gibney and illustrator Ralph Steadman recounts his long and turbulent collaboration and friendship with Hunter in The Joke's Over. No other writer has managed to transcend his craft like Hunter S Thompson. He's gone but not forgotten.
